RiverStone Design Group (a former LEI company) was hired by Oakley City to prepare a conceptual master plan for a new five acre City Center core and to develop the Design Standards which will help achieve the City’s vision of the City Center. Through extensive site inventory and analysis, and a series of public meetings and work sessions, RiverStone staff worked closely with the Mayor, City Council, Planning Commission, and residents to prepare a master plan for the City Center that emphasized public open spaces, a pedestrian-scale mixed-use core, pedestrian-friendly streetscapes, and sustainable building design.
The accompanying City Center Design Standards describe and illustrate the architectural character, land planning and landscape architectural design principles, and sustainable construction practices that will guide the vision of the master plan over time.
