The Subaru dealership and service bay were an addition to an existing service bay structure. The new sales area was steel and wood framed and attached to the existing service bay requiring a CMU fire separation wall between the two structures. The new service bay was to be reinforced CMU with a wood roof and storage mezzanine. The combination of CMU and wood creates some design challenges in meeting the anchorage requirements of the Building Code. LEI developed a solution that adhered to the Code requirements and also met the Architect’s awsthetic requirements for the new addition.
