Homeowner
The Christian residence is located in the Pinebrook Development in Park City, Utah. The existing conditions of the lot created unique design challenges with its existing stands of mature oaks and limited solar exposure, steep terrain, and an existing gas line easement. The homeowner’s goals included creating a maintenance free landscape by replacing all of the existing lawn areas with planter areas, preserving existing vegetation, creating landscape buffers along certain property lines, and maintaining existing view corridors. In addition, the homeowner wanted a physical connection from the front yard to the backyard with a flagstone path and space for a small vegetable garden.
RiverStone Design Group (a former LEI company) was hired by the homeowner to analyze the existing site conditions and prepare a landscape redesign that would create a maintenance free landscape by eliminating existing lawn areas and providing native, drought tolerant plants and trees, while providing vegetation buffers and preserving views of the surrounding mountains. In addition, all of the existing irrigation systems were converted to a low water use drip system.
